Dreamy, Soul Satisfying Dairy-Free Chocolate Pudding Recipe

When all else fails, there’s Chocolate. And, what could be better than a dairy- and gluten-free treat when your healing efforts have stalled? Even if they are sailing along nicely, there is something very soul soothing about a comfort food like pudding.

This recipe is so easy I feel kind of silly sharing it here, but it is the kind of thing I delight in finding to complement the healing journey. Life is complicated. Eating well should be simple. Plus, your brain needs good fats and this pudding is chock full.

I cherish familiarity and comfort and I find them both in the simple and sacred act of cooking.

I am an amateur photographer at best, and I try to make things look pretty here on the blog. There was simply no way to make this chocolate pudding anything near attractive with my iPhone. I figured the empty bowl was an indicator of how ridiculously good this recipe is to eat.

Dreamy Dairy-Free Chocolate Pudding Recipe

2 ripe avocados, seeded and peeled

2 generous tablespoons coconut cream

¼ cup organic cacao powder

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 generous tablespoon raw almond butter

Place avocado and coconut cream into the bowl of a food processor and blend until smooth. Add maple syrup, cacao powder and almond butter and process until creamy.

Delicious eaten right away, but even better after an overnight stint in the fridge. Indulge with the freedom of knowing you are doing your body good.

As always, I’d love to hear if this sweetens the healing journey.

Dianna – Thank you for posting this! I started a whole foods, plant-based program 2 months ago. I’ve been having so much joy in all my cooking – but no and again I would love a chocolate treat. This fits the menu and sounds soooo comforting! Love that it will help along the healing journey as well!! xo

I’d love to hear how the plant-based life is treating you. I keep trying to get there but my body operates better with certain things. I hope you enjoyed the pudding. There are some amazing whole food treats out there. xo
