Conscious Healing Through Mind Mapping

Although healing is an organic process, it requires a pro-active mindset. And, making the choice to heal is the only way for it to begin. Let’s face it, being a victim is powerful stuff and you can get a lot of mileage out of it. But, it limits your range because you will be driving the same stretch of highway for the rest of your life.

Consciously choosing to heal, or to become whole again, is very empowering. In my Transformational Toolbox, which you can download on my blog main page, I recommend becoming the Curator of your own life. This simply means carefully examining the contents of your life and deciding if each particular person, experience or behavior is enhancing, or limiting, your universe. This is a crucial element to consider after loss because, like it or not, the world you now inhabit is different and responding to this new environment with awareness will leverage your power.

Throughout the aftermath of my crisis, I actively utilized Mind Mapping to solve the challenging situations I faced. I began with an idea and then wrote down all the possibilities I could envision. Some ideas were far-fetched, but I put them all down and ended up with six pads full of my thought bubbles. There is a kind of magic to this process and when I look back on the pages now, I can see that just about everything happened the way I mapped it out.

In the book Write It Down, Make It Happen, the author writes about the power of writing things down:

“Writing down your dreams and aspirations is like hanging up a sign that says, “Open for Business.” Or as my friend Elaine puts it, by writing it down, your declare yourself in the game. Putting it down on paper alerts the part of your brain known as the reticular activating system to join you in the play.”

The reticular activating system is the mechanism at work when someone tells you about a car you have never heard of and then you see it everywhere. Writing down your goals and desires creates a similar mechanism for your brain. Suddenly, things begin to appear.

Along the same lines, in an article by Cameron Herold, he describes his business technique for helping companies focus on success:

“When you have ‘leaned out’ and grabbed hold of a clear vision for success, you’re more likely to achieve your desired goal.”

Through mind mapping, I have been leaning out into the future with regard to my healing, and it has catapulted me beyond being stuck as a victim of circumstance. One of the most powerful tools we all have at our disposal, at any given moment, is our imagination. It is a force to be reckoned with, and harnessing it can carry us beyond the limitations of our current lives. I created powerful signals that literally anchored me to the future. Although it is still a work in progress, this blog is one of the results of that clear desire to shepherd my children through this catastrophe with love and integrity.

How can you lean out into the future and grab the vision for healing and an amazing life? Experiment and set a passionate intention that resonates with your heart and soul – then map it out so you can find your way there.

I would love to hear when the magic begins.

I’ve used mind-mapping for my businesses, but never for personal issues. I’d like to give it a try! Thanks for the vivid description of the process, Dianna; it will help get me going in the right direction!
