End of Life Resources The experience of losing both my husband and my mother, within a year, in entirely different ways completely changed my view of death. My husband took his own life. My mother died in my arms eleven months later. Both deaths changed me on a cellular level and graced me with deeper compassion and understanding. My universe now includes curious matters previously unencountered: the police on my doorstep, the coroner’s office, hospice and crematoriums. I hope my experiences with death will help you in some way. It is a part of life that we all have to embrace.
